Critical Mass for Sustainability (CMasS) is a social movement that promotes sustainability at home through major changes in consumption habits. Change is aimed to be made in small steps and driven by a strong incentive – health. The project focuses on two missions: 1- raising public awareness to the widespread phenomenon of harmful chemicals in household products; 2- Making information about existing alternatives more accessible –which healthier products exit, purchasing links and the knowhow to transform personal habits to healthier ones. Current ongoing activities include: A. Lectures and Seminars; B. Professional consultation. C. Building a strong social media community using various social media platforms; D. Creating weekly challenges for home detoxification.
The ultimate goal of CMasS is to establish a one-stop shop marketplace, the “ebay” for sustainable and healthy products. The website will offer professional content on relevant health issues and a wide variety of consumer products with a low “health footprint” in all domestic categories- all in one centralized place. Products are filtered according to their content (containing less or no toxic substances), brands' transparency and responsibility based on international standards (zero waste, biodegradable, fait trade etc.).
